Just about anyone can give advice to others, but common sense dictates that not all advice is created equal.
Generally I tend to give added weight to those who have a track record of success in a given area.
So today I wanted to share some wisdom from those who have risen to the top of their respective fields. These come in the form of quotes attributed to different people, all successful in one way or another.
I’ve always been a fan of listening and learning from those who have “been there and done that” because if anyone would know, it would be them. No use listening to someone who has an axe to grind, or is angry at the world for some crazy reason. Nope, I’m looking for happy, well-adjusted people who are successful.
The five quotes below provide some really good insight into how no two businesses are the same, how you need to “let go” and trust others, how those pain in the butt customers are really valuable, how you need to tweak your business all the time and how powerful your inner thoughts are to your overall success.
Take a moment and read each one of the quotes below carefully. Maybe you’ll glean something different from what I got out of them. If you can, leave a comment at the end describing which one was your favorite. Make sure to explain WHY it was your favorite too!
Quote 1
“You get the idea. Every business, like a painting, operates according to its own rules. There are many ways to run a successful company. What works once may never work again. What everyone tells you never to do may just work, once. There are no rules. You don’t learn to walk by following rules. You learn by doing, and by falling over, and it’s because you fall over that you learn to save yourself from falling over. It’s the greatest thrill in the world and it runs away screaming at the first sight of bullet points.”
Richard Branson
Quote 2
“Overwhelmed? Delegate. For perfectionists of the world, this is often a challenge. While you may think only you can do it best, you are denying someone else an opportunity to learn when you do everything yourself. Being the bottleneck serves no one, including you.”
Lisa A. Mininni
Quote 3
“Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning.”
Bill Gates
Quote 4
“The competitor to be feared is one who never bothers about you at all, but goes on making his own business better all the time.”
Henry Ford
Quote 5
“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve. Thoughts are things! And powerful things at that, when mixed with definiteness of purpose, and burning desire, can be translated into riches.”
Napoleon Hill

I agree with quote#1. Once you know something it’s good to do it than to just listen because if don’t do it how can you know if it will work out.

Quote #5 hits me to a T….. I am a firm believer that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Take action because just believing is not enough. It takes hard work and you need to be very diligent and consistent. Your dreams can come true:)

I like the quote from Napoleon Hill. It’s from his book, “Think and Grow Rich.” Thoughts can become things and usually do. This quote is the theme of his book. It has given me the motivation to be persistent and to never recognize anything as failure.
