Starting a new cleaning business can be a scary concept to many. If you have no business experience it can seem overwhelming.
It can be hard just to figure out what to do first. As someone who went through the very same thought process as you I can tell you my thoughts on the matter.
Overcoming the fear of starting a cleaning business
A little over ten years ago I said enough is enough. I’m tired of working for someone else. I looked at many different businesses and tried to figure out what I wanted. The cleaning business kept popping up because of the low start up cost. It also gave you the ability of sliding into the business gradually instead of just quitting and taking my chances.
I was both extremely excited and quite concerned because I had zero experience running a business. I had zero experience across the board! But I wanted to control my destiny. So…with that burning desire I jumped in. After jumping in these questions (self doubt) started to rise up in my head.
-
Do I have what it takes?
- Can I find the time?
- Can I afford to put the money out?
- What do I do first?
- What if I fail?
- Who do I turn to for help?
I’m quite practical and I knew these doubts were all valid concerns. The one thing I had going for me is that I did not let myself become paralyzed by these thoughts! I forged ahead tackling one problem after another until I landed my first account. You can do the same!
To put this in perspective, what happens when you run into a problem at your regular job? Do you quit immediately and find another job? No, you figure it out as you go. Having a business is no different, just with better pay! As I always say, it’s not rocket science.
I can not tell you how many times I run into old colleagues who are still “complaining” about whatever their job requires of them. They constantly say they would love to start their own business but they always have one or more reasons why they can’t. If you can name it I have heard it given as a reason why this person or that person can’t do something.
The goal on this posting is to get you to overcome your fear of starting your own business. If you have the discipline to get up each day and go to work to perform your duties there, you can run your own business. It ain’t rocket science!

I am just getting started, and this is my first business and it is just like you said, I do need all of the help that I can get right now. I have read many books on this and watch meny online videos. However, I am still not sure about this, so, with all that, I am asking for any and all help that I can get
