If you go into just about any garage, you’ll find some tools. Each one has some specific job, and if you have that tool it helps you out a ton.
Well the same principle applies when you are cleaning. The right tool can make the difference between something taking a few minutes, or thirty minutes. And in this business TIME is MONEY.
When I owned my business I collected a ton of equipment. Some items I bought for just one job. For instance I had some backpack vacuums that were awesome for large areas of carpet. I had several of these over the years.
Some stayed at an individual account, while others were stored in one of my work vehicles so that they could be used in mutable locations. It really just depended on the circumstances. On other jobs a smaller vacuum was key, so I bought smaller ones for those accounts. You get the idea!
So, to make a long story short, If I thought an item would help me go faster, I invested money into that specific tool to help me get done. Even if I got canned down the road, I could still utilize that piece of equipment at another account.
So with that concept in mind I wanted share a few tools that I found over on Amazon. Having them in your proverbial toolbox may get you done faster, and more importantly, better. Some are cheap, and others are expensive, but each one will come in handy at certain jobs. Lets get started!
Cleaning equipment that helps you get done faster
The picture below show the OXO Good Grips Extendable Tub & Tile Scrubber. Awesome way to NOT BREAK YOUR BACK when cleaning bathrooms! GREAT PRICE too! If you clean a lot of homes, this item may save you quite a bit of time.
The O-Cedar Easy Wring Spin Mop and Bucket System is another item that may come in handy for those that clean lots of houses. Hands free wringing of the mop head and the ability to get into corners make this a time saver on smaller jobs.
Here is an inexpensive set of Window Cleaning Brushes designed to clean the tracks. If you clean a lot of apartments this handy little tool could be a big time saver. They don’t take up a lot of room and they don’t cost all that much. They may be worth a try!
For smaller jobs the Sanitaire SC785AT is my number one choice for a dependable vacuum.. You probably recognize this unit, as it’s my all-time favorite vacuum cleaner that I did a review on a while back. No joke… I bought well over 100 of these babies!
Another item for those that clean homes is the Microfiber Cleaning Kit. It’s an entire kit that allows you to clean floors, do some dusting, clean windows, clean the kitchen and bathroom too. Seems to be a nice starter package for those just getting started!
Here is a cool item, it’s a universal mop head that has a scrubbing pad built-in. I just LOVE the idea of the built-in scrubbing pad. It may not be needed on every commercial cleaning job, but there’s no doubt it would be a huge help on some accounts.

You are right! The equipment does make the job easier and faster! And to me the backpack vacuums are the best for big areas. A nice used one will cost 200 to 400 dollars but they last long if you take care of it.

I was going to add in some backpack vacuums but I have a post coming up that talks about that in the next few weeks. Anyway… THANKS for commenting Ron. Much appreciated!

How well does this vacuum pick up sand? I clean homes on the beach mostly all hard wood or tile. Most upright vacuums just spit the sand all over.

Hi Kelly!
The Sanitaire is UNBELIEVABLE. It actually picks up the half eaten “millet” (bird food) from my cockatiel. All other vacs spit this stuff out becasue it’s like fine dust, but not the Sanitaire.

Unfortunately in the past, I’ve made the mistake of quoting based on these speed of these products.

Hi! I always look forward to your suggestions with products. My vaccuum gets used the most and I am going to buy a backpack for a new contract that I won with a preschool. I never even knew they existed!
Love the podcasts as well
