We all worry. We worry about things large and small. We worry about the important and no so important.
It’s an endless cycle that feeds on itself at times. This also applies to starting a business or growing an existing business.
People worry about how to get accounts, how to bid the jobs, how to hire employees and the list goes on and on. These are all good things to be proactive on, so don’t get me wrong. You do need to address these issues to be successful!
Stop Worrying. Start Believing.
But time after time I get the sense, after speaking to literally thousands of people, that they lack the belief that success is really achievable for them. They see it only for others, not for themselves. Well I’m here to tell you that success is not just for a chosen few, it’s for everyone. That means every single one of you reading this.
The only real price of admission to the success club is this… you need to believe in yourself. When you believe in yourself, others start to believe in you too. And when they believe in you, they HIRE YOU.
I know that sounds pretty simple, but it’s true. The best part is after a while this process starts to pay dividends and before you know it, PRESTO… success is at hand! You just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other and good things will happen if you stay positive.
The SECRET to GETTING HIRED
I know I’ve told this story a countless times, but in the cleaning business all you really have to do to get hired is convince another human being that you are capable of taking out their trash, vacuuming their carpet, cleaning their bathrooms and mopping their floors better than who they have now.
That is all you are doing. So to worry endlessly about whether you can have success or not doesn’t make much sense to me. You are only doing the most basic of tasks. So when you meet a prospective customer, you should be brimming with confidence.
You should be able to hold your head high and tell them flat-out… if you hire me I will work harder than anyone you have ever had cleaning for you. I promise you that! Pretty simple huh? I bet you if you say that line with complete confidence you will get hired more often than not.
So I’ll wrap this up by pleading with you to believe in your abilities. You are not building a rocket that needs to land on the moon, you are only aiming to clean some toilets better than the next person.
